Well, finally had my follow up with Dr. Avunduk after having the endoscopy, colonoscopy and liver biopsy. I'm sure I'll be getting some wonderful co-insurance bills for those, but at least I know now that there is nothing horribly wrong with me. However, my acid reflux needs to be controlled better, and I need to lose weight. The only thing wrong with my liver is that it is "fatty", and I need to lose at least 20 pounds. Having a fatty liver means it's inflamed. So, now my weight has come to kill me.
The standard diet brochure she gave me for the reflux is, of course, hugely inconvenient. Some of these rules I do know and try to follow. I am not supposed to eat after 5 PM, and should have my largest meal at lunch, and a small meal for dinner. Yes - I do know these things. I try not to eat after 7 PM, but 5 PM is really pushing it. I may have a schedule where I work until 6:30 or later, and with Zamir concerts and such, it's hard.
I can eat fruit but not have fruit juice. The list says "no snacks"... Not sure about that one. It says eat only breakfast lunch and dinner. Now, if I was trying to just lose weight, especially on WW, snacking - the low fat healthy kind - is practically required. But if I eat a small meal at 5 PM, I'll be cranky and chewing my arm off by 10 PM! I'm not sure why small meals throughout the day is not better for this problem anyway.
Also, I have diverticulosis and am not supposed to eat popcorn. But the receptionist says that "everyone" has this. If it becomes inflamed, however, then you are in trouble.
