One down - Endoscopy

I showed up at 7;30 AM this morning to check in for my endoscopy, with Alan in tow. he really is so good - so obeying - when it comes to things like this. I know that even though they make you come in early, there's lots of waiting around, and there was. After I was led into the room where they get you ready, I changed into a johnny (just top off) and got onto the gurney, and watched Good Morning America for almost an hour, after they asked me all the standard questions 3 times and stuck an IV needle in my hand and took my bp and stuck heart monitors on me. Dr. Avunduk also came in to say hi and sign some papers.

Finally at 9 AM, I was wheeled into the operating room - I think they use it mostly for these procedures. Dr. A came in - same blond curly hair and interesting outfit, and the anesthesiologist introduced herself, a very young girl. Said it wasn't heavy stuff, just enough, and as soon as it started coming through the nose tube, I was out. I think I woke up in the recovery area - I don't remember a thing.

But now I have to wait for results until she's done the colonoscopy - next week - and the liver biopsy. I'm not as scared about those, but I still hate all that waiting around. And I have so much to do inbetween - concerts and volunteering at WCUW etc. I can barely keep track. And the night before the colonoscopy I have to do the "prep" to clean out my system. Luckily it's just pills this time.

With all these tests, of course I'm freaked that they'll find something wrong with me. Cancer is, of course, the worst, but something could be wrong with my liver too. If it's just losing weight, I can do it.
