I had an exhausting weekend and I'm glad to be home, after spending 2 nights at Alan's house in Newton. It is kind of nice there... very quiet on his street, and dark. On Sunday i watched a red cardinal up in the tree, and we saw two rabbits running around his yard.
Had a concert last night with 4 choirs - I sang in 2 of them... it was hot, and made more exhausting because when I got there I realized I had forgotten my uniform and had to go back to dbf's house to get it. Luckily we are always asked to arrive a couple hours early.
I was at Alan's house over the weekend and tried to help him clean up... he finally got his desk and computer set up, and I tried to move stuff out of the middle of the floor - where he had just plopped various things like books. I also tried to organize one of the spare office rooms - there's just all these containers of trivial items, pins and buttons and photos and stuff - I want to get rid of the junk and get things like photos into one place.. The house needs sooooo much work it's a daunting task.
Then I noticed that Alan's plants were just shy of dead so I tried to revive them... he's been too busy to even take care of them. He has an enormous Aloe plant that had just about fallen over and out of the pot. it was like an unweildy octopus.. I was going to scoop out the leaves and put all the aloe gel in a bottle.. but I don't know if that would work.
After that I drove to Worcester to do a volunteer shift at the station in the office...opening the mail and getting any checks ready for deposit by someone else. But I had trouble opening the outside office door with my key so I couldn't do too much. grrrr. i went over to "the shoppes at Blackstone Valley" . That has all the big stores in one place - Target, Kohls, Marshalls, the Gap, barnes and noble, chicos, coldwater creek, lots of smaller stores, restaurants, all the phone stores, the Gap, babiesRUs, famous footware, Pier 1 - it is not a mall... you have to drive to different parking lots.
Then I got home at 4 PM and fell asleep for about 2 hours.
