No House Beautiful

I have been on a "tear" lately about cleaning this condo. My obsession with the clutter has been stressing me out. I re-organized my office the other night - I dusted the shelf unit and put everything back, dusted the top of the desk, and vacuumed. I put my binders on one of the shelves; keeping them on the file cabinet wasn't a good idea as they just kept falling over. I moved those magazine holders full of miscellaneous stuff off the desk. There are still areas that need work but it's better.

Today I decided to focus on my bedroom. I vacuumed and dusted my bureau by the window, removed the pile of magazines from the bookcase, and brought a small pile to the library (at least I'm trying to take less than I leave off). I pulled out the underbed storage unit, which I think should be used for other things, and took out the sheets that were in there. Unlike some clutter experts, I think underbed storage is a great idea, but they should be my least- used items. The sheets went back into the closet (my makeshift linen closet). And I think I'll get a better under bed unit for other stuff.

So I am making some progress, but it still isn't where I want it to be yet. There is a lot to do. I need to finish the bedroom, deal with the spare room (difficult until I get rid of the record albums), and clean up the dining area where my stereo and CDs make for a lot of clutter.
I don't mind having them over there, but I need to keep them more organized.

If I were having company, I could clean up quickly, but it's a more permanent kind of organization that I am aiming for. I've been here almost 4 years, and I have let some areas go. So, hopefully sooner rather than later, it will be better.

So far this week I have:
1) arranged for new phone service from Comcast
2) made a dermatologist appt
3) reorganized office
4) cleaned and dusted bedroom
5) brought old magazines to library
6) called Insurance agent to get copy of policy
7) Got retainers and had teeth fixed at Dentist
8) created expenses spreadsheet
9) updated investments spreadsheet
10)Mailed bills
