Still Teenagers

6/24 – Still Teenagers.
It’s so funny.. .I saw Alan at services this morning… I don’t go very often but I knew he was going, and Rabbi Deb Slavitt’s daughter was being Bat Mitzvahed and I knew she would be good and I wanted to hear her do her halftorah. And she was good – excellent, actually. and it was nice hearing all the speakers, and hear her little speech. She is a bit precocious - very smart. She goes to Cohen Hillel Academy and her classmates and teachers were there. I got there at about 10 and sat down with Alan. He would occasionally comment or tell me something, and I passed him a note I’d written last night that said “yesterday, 6/23, was a month since our first date.” He smiled and put it in his pocket. He sings along with everything... what a change from the "I hate other Jews" guy.

So I asked him if he wanted to come over tonight, and I’d been trying to think of what we could do (LOL)… I decided we’d make a pizza and then find a movie on HBO or On Demand. Our pizza came out great.. I had a new pizza pan from the xmas tree shop and we made plain cheese and tomato.. like most of my friends, he can't eat much of the other stuff -- onions, peppers etc. But that was fine.


We also had the wine from Israel - just a small bottle of the Muscat. After much flipping of channels, we settled on a movie about a boxer from the 30’s called “Cinderella Man"... He left at about 12:30 - he said he hadn't slept much last night and he was very tired. Tomorrow, we are also going to the Men’s club breakfast to hear Dana Rosenblatt the boxer speak. I didn’t know Alan had signed up and I did last week, so we are going together… ooh another temple “outing”. people saw us together last night and this morning... much temple gossip may ensue.. LOL... or not. I don't think all that many people know him.

Things are really good though.... I am still having a hard time getting used to the fact that I'm seeing someone new... getting used to how he feels and how relaxed I am with him. It has been almost THREE weeks since I last spoke to - uh, what's his name again? At one point I must have said or done something odd, (who, me?) and Alan was looking at me funny and I said "why are you looking at me like I have 3 heads", and he said: "I'm just thinking how darn cute you are.." oh good lord.. barf. Well I think I can safely ask him to Marilyn's for July 4 now.. he'll probably say yes. He basically says yes to anything I ask him - LOL... he's so easy. I did have to ask him outside to please not blow his smoke in my direction - but I'll get him trained. And he only had one all evening, although I'm pretty sure he had one before he rang my bell !
