No Pain Today!!!

This morning, as I walked to physical therapy from the garage, I realized that I was in no pain.... on a scale of one to ten, it was zero. Of course, my toes are still numb and tight (that's the word I should use - "tight"). I had over an hour of heat, stretching, massage, exercise and ice, and I left PT still feeling pretty good. I know that at home, between making lunch, washing the dishes, etc... it will eventually come back, but it gives me hope.

Today I invited Alan over for lunch and to go in my pool. We discovered yesterday, after getting all ready, that his pool was closed for the season. Mine is still open. We spent a nice time in the water - cold - but it was very hot today. Then we sat on my patio, then watched some TV. He has gone home and I'm free to do what I want to do now, although I'd always rather have him over. Alan always feels that he is leaving other stuff he needs to do when he comes over here, but I told him all work and no play.... and that he needs to have more fun and relax. I had a little leg pain while standing in the pool for a while, but the PT and ice and heat and stretching hopefully are doing the job. I thought that the surgery to remove the herniation was all I needed... but the pain always remains. Plus my numb foot, which Dr. Rachlin says will go away.
