Well, last day as an IT Help Desk Analyst... boo hoo..
Last night I went out w/ about 20 Administrators (who have been here all week for training) to the Pearl Street Restaurant in Malden and after dinner we did - Karaoke!!
At dinner I sat w/ a bunch of women I didn't know - the other table was John, Vita, and Robin. At my table, they were drinking all kinds of crazy things and were really really LOUD... with Southern accents!!! Not all the women are young either, a couple are at least my age... One woman had her 22 year old son with her, who actually sings in college glee club and did really well at Karaoke. I did 2 numbers and it was fun. I sang Superstar, and Smackwater Jack.
That was the first time I think I'd been at a real Karaoke place where there were lots of other people getting up... I've only done it at a divey bar and at the somerville city club. Some of the women there of course were quite attractive, and John had a great time flirting w/ all of them.
I mean why not, he's a good looking guy, and he looooves women and women seem to gravitate to him... It was quite a scene.. we took up about half of the front lounge and as you can imagine got many stares from the other diners since we were quite loud (I don't mean the royal we - I mean "they" as in Not Me.). One older women who is very tiny and attractive was just totally drunk and loud and dancing w/ everyone (men and women) and the only thing I have to say is that I may be an old fart, but I just don't think you should get totally drunk when you are with work people, even if no managers or people of "influence" are there... I said to John I know I'm an old fart but I just don't think it's right to make a fool of yourself in front of coworkers, even if it isn't a work sponsored event.
