Eden's Shower

Eden's Shower - Everything went off without a hitch. I decided on a baseball theme, and Eden thought that was great. I invited her family, and because originally Eden said that Tony's mother wouldn't come (no idea why), she had not given any of their names. Then I found out that he hadn't even asked her!!! So I said, good grief, give me those names asap! And of course Tony's mother and 2 aunts came and had a great time.

Eden's friend Joan Micarelli came but Eden's college roommate Jennifer (Young) Niles could not come. She will be coming to the wedding though and it will be nice to see her for the first time in ages . I remember once meeting her for lunch when I was working at JHF - that was probably 7-8 years ago. I probably hadn't seen Joan in almost that long too.

One thing that was very difficult for all of us was seeing Judy for the first time in a few months. She came late and while she talks and sounds and acts like Judy, she doesn't look like the Judy we are used to seeing. She has lost her hair again, she has lost a lot of weight since her last surgery (she was in the hospital and rehab for a long time this time), and what's really hard to see is how while she has gotten so thin in the face, she still has a huge protruding stomach because of her tumors. I could tell right away that Denise was really having a hard time. She kept looking at me like she wanted to get me alone and say "I can't believe this is happening".... It had been a long time since she had seen Judy, although she had talked to her on the phone. After that we couldn't stop talking about it and I couldn't stop thinking about it. How long will this go on? I wanted to call Bernie and talk to him but I never quite got my nerve up.
