Lots going on, and nothing going on.
Alan and I drove to Ogunquit yesterday - really pretty. We walked the Marginal Way - a long winding and paved road along the shore, high above the water. But so exhausted last night, and too hot to sleep so came home and slept today. I blew off the gym, but had 7 PM dr appt that turned into 8 PM Dr. appt (GRRRR) so at 8:30 I decided to work off my frustration on the treadmill.
I have lost 6 pounds and Dr. Avunduk, my gastro/liver doctor, is pleased but I need to do more.
I finally set up wireless in my house - so now I can update NYtimes or check email on my iTouch when I'm on the sofa - LAAAAZY!!!!
I don't mind spending a couple of days at Alan's house, but I still really love living here. That live together thing might never work out.
The high holidays will be here soon and I need to get going on the high holiday music - waiting for 2 books to come in that I ordered from Cantor's Assembly. But I need to sit down with the schedule and figure out what new things I'd like to add, before I meet with the Rabbi. I wasted the last two months and now I have to get going on this.
I have a job interview with Pointright in Lexington on 8/6. I passed two screenings, but I still need to prepare.
Market is up, but my checking account is way down.
Last week I was talking to Sheila Kipnis and we were discussing our family tree, and she mentioned her recordings of the Joseph Tall hour. (her uncle) I told her about the Dartmouth Jewish Music Archives, and she pulled out a business card for one of her cousins - he runs the archive! Since I inherited a small collection of jewish recordings, she suggested I write to him, wihch I'd been thinking about doing, but now I have a contact. Isn't it funny how things happen? My collection includes the Israel Folk Symphony conducted by Marc Lavry, songs by Sidor Belarsky, Zipora Cohen, Shoshana Damari, accompanists Abe Ellstein, and Moshe Wilensky..
So, I spent about an hour tonight making a list of all the records and typing it up so I can send it to him.
