Well, I've certainly had worse weekends, and worse Mondays...
This weekend was really nice.. still in vacation mode... didn't want to go back to work. Friday Alan and I went to a museum - a museum?? with a guy??? Ok, I do remember a guy I went to museums with.. long ago, in a galaxy far far away...oh, and of course I did say that Alan reminded me of a grown up Jonas, didn't I???
Saturday evening I cooked dinner and we watched The Producers on PPV. Very silly movie.
Sunday Zamir sang an outdoor concert in Newton Center. A
lan and his mother came, as did Nat and Marlee (and friend).
We had a big turnout despite the iffy weather. All the usual Zamir groupies were there. Alan met Natalie, although he didn't really say much. Then when the concert was over I brought them all together. I mean, Nat is my closest "kin"... no parents to meet., after all. Alan's mother loved Marlee of course.. and kept talking about how blonde they were...
Today begins my first real full week doing 9-6 and on the phones... I was a little miffed after all those emails about wrap times and cell phones and internet etc... my manager had apparently been busy catching up on that managing stuff I don't think he does very often.
I don't think he's a very hands on lets get to know each other kind of manager, which is why everyone says talk to Vanessa.. she came through the ranks and knows the scoop. We are having a staff meeting this week, and "meet Phyllis" seems to be on the agenda. At the end of the day, (literally, not corp. speak ) .. I had a discussion about wrap times and such with Max and Mike, and Kevin, who is the senior member of the team and works 1 to 10 or something like that. He is the one who takes over for Vanessa in telling you if you aren't on Available or what not. Kind of a pain and I didn't like having the discussion in front of him, asking Mike if he's concerned since he's only been there a month - no one seems to care if they get an "incident"... I certainly don't. I'm not sure I'll still be there in a year anyway.
Today was ok though. I took a lot of calls and helped out as best I could. I took a walk around at lunch - it's a good route to cross over to Main, and then walk around back to Binney.
I could have walked further - I can even walk over to Mem Drive sometime or around the MIT campus, but I didn't have enough time today.Scott S. from Keane started at BioGen today and he replied to my email.. he told me to come by and say hello. It will be nice to see a familiar face. I also emailed and heard back from LarryV - told me to say hi to Scott for him. I haven't talked to anyone from Keane in awhile.. I kind of miss JohnnyO...
I also emailed Suzy Glazer to apologize for the "smoking" incident yesterday LOL... she said she felt terrible but I was the one apologizing... I said please don't feel bad.. she did the right thing! It never occured to me that Alan would light up.. he doesn't think twice about lighting up in a crowd, and that is something i have to address with him.
